Our mission

Why

Government is in the process of transforming the delivery of public services and has positioned the citizen at the centre of this process.

In 2007 TNS-BMRB and The Futures Company jointly established the IIPS, a collaborative thought leadership vehicle dedicated to supporting this agenda by bringing insights about the needs and expectations of British citizens to the heart of government. We exist to provide the context for service transformation, as well as to bring citizen insight from around the world to bear.

How

The IIPS draws on the expertise and resources within TNS-BMRB and The Futures Company to develop and promote the use of customer insight in the transformation of public services in the UK. We do this by running IIPS events focusing on key delivery challenges facing transformational government, as well as through pioneering research and consultancy work led by BMRB and The Futures Company.

IIPS events

We host a series of events providing a forum for exchange and debate for those working across government. These include

• regular breakfast briefings to share insights from our consultancy work, innovative methods and our latest proprietary research findings;
• an annual ‘What the Citizen Wants’ review event, presenting IIPS research and analysis of the British public’s expectations of public service delivery;
• private roundtables with public sector organisations, where our experts debate delivery challenges and share good practice.

Research and consultancy

An essential part of our knowledge base comes from ongoing research and consultancy work conducted by TNS-BMRB and The Futures Company. Our colleagues in both companies work alongside public sector clients [who we work with], to support service transformation projects covering areas such as health services, education, community engagement and personalisation.
